In response to the recruitment needs of companies for their marketing and sales functions, emlyon business school leverages its expertise in marketing and business development, coupled with its global reach and strong connections to business ecosystems, to offer the MSc in International Marketing & Business Development.


How will the program be structured?

1st academic period


đź“… September to December đź“Ť Lyon campus

The program begins with core courses aiming to understand the marketing function in its entirety (what do people in marketing do, how can the marketing function be organized and how does it contribute to value creation) and in relation with the other functions of the firm (especially sales). You will also discover sales and purchasing techniques; as well as develop a micro understanding of people from different cultures and how to create and decide together.


You will also have the international seminar during the 1st semester

2nd academic period


đź“… January to March đź“Ť Lyon campus

A large part of marketing is about understanding the final consumers of our products and services and taloring our products and services to the market. This entails diving into psychology and sociology applied to consumption. You will learn to develop novel ideas and explore the future of innovation (big data, AI) and marketing (sustainability, ethics, etc.); but also to make the right strategic choices, and then implementing them.

3rd academic period


đź“… April to July đź“Ť International term

This module aims to cover some more specific issues related to bringing products / services to the market. On the one hand, students will discover how to manage innovation and how to brand novelties. On the other hand, they will tackle more specific issues related to marketing, such as digital marketing and pricing strategies.
You will have the unique opportunity to further specialize, participate in a project for a company and enlarge your horizons with business environment and perspectives.

4th period


đź“… August to December đź“Ť Anywhere in the world

This last period is dedidacted to your professional thesis and doing a 4-to-6 months internship (in France or abroad).
