Tell us a bit about your background.

My name is Benjamyn Bigot-Petruzzi and I’m 22. I am half French half Italian, I grew up in the East of France (Metz), nearby Luxembourg, where I studied until I turned 18. Afterwards, I left for Montreal (Canada) in order to complete my trilingual Bachelor in Business Administration at HEC Montreal during 4 years. In that period of time, I also got the chance to complete an exchange program at Bocconi University in Milan (Italy) and meet people from all over the world. Passionate by the topic of Luxury Management, I have also completed two summer schools sessions specialized on this topic at Bocconi first, then at HEC Paris. I also love to travel and to speak different languages which has lead me to start a blog about my experiences abroad during my exchange and also learn 4 languages.

Why did you decide to join the program?

Luxury Management is the topic I am the most passionate about since a very young age, representing dream and exclusivity. Through my different experiences, I was sure that I wanted to focus mainly on this topic and emlyon business school definitely had the best program on the market to help me fulfill my ambitions. First of all, the MSc in Luxury Management & Marketing is conceived in a way that we study in depths all the basics, realities and challenges of the Luxury industry. In addition to that, as I love to travel and discover new places, the program enables me to continue studying abroad to gain more international experience in the main cities ruling the luxury world. It is a very unique chance and experience. Finally, the program helps us to boost our career thanks to two work experiences included in the program, which can also be done abroad. That was a very important criteria for me.

What do you expect from the program?

What I expect from the program is to gain practical skills that are going to help me lead successfully a career in the luxury business. I want to learn how to manage a luxury company and acquire the necessary competencies to take over the challenges of this captivating industry. On top of that, I want to take advantage of the great mix of cultures and nationalities represented in the program and interact with people from different backgrounds. Finally, I want to be able to experiment and see, what the different realities of the luxury business are.
