Your specialization in the MiM program
The Master’s cycle of the Master in Management - Grande Ecole Program after an international diploma offers a core curriculum covering the fundamentals of management, the development of your entrepreneurial mindset through DNA courses, and progressive specialization with focused tracks and/or electives to enhance your professional skills. You will build your international profile through mobility programs abroad, as well as the option to take a gap year between your Master 1 (Year 2 of the MiM program Program) and your Master 2 (Year 3).

Our 4 ADN courses, a true pedagogical signature of the Grande École Program, will allow you to hybridize your curriculum through various multidisciplinary projects that will challenge your skills and critical thinking.
🌱 Sustainable Futures
In the role of a consultant, you will help companies (such as Société Générale, Vinci, etc.) challenge their visions of the future and create sustainable futures. You will imagine scenarios never considered before to broaden and transform the worldview upon which leaders rely to rethink organizational strategies, thereby contributing to the design of "livable" worlds.

🚀 Business Creation Project - PCE
You will work in a group on your business creation project, benefiting from the support of experts and the tools available in our maker’s lab.
From idea generation to writing the business plan, including business models and numerous field contacts, you will develop your agility, identify opportunities, and lead the entire entrepreneurial process of your project.
The Business Creation Prokect remains unique to this day, with over 1,000 projects undertaken – some of which have resulted in actual business creations.
🔎 RECAPSS - Applied Research in Social Sciences
You will conduct a study on a topic of your choice, developing your critical thinking and skills related to field research methodologies.
In teams, you will carry out a research project from start to finish, supervised by a team of professors and researchers. RECAPSS addresses often complex issues that blend legal, moral, economic, and social dimensions.
You will also develop investigative and communication skills through various formats: podcast, report, video, etc.
💻 Prototype
In a constantly evolving world, having ideas is no longer enough to successfully carry out a project. Prototyping is the bridge to action.
Prototyping allows companies to launch a new product on the market to test various elements such as feasibility, interface, size, weight, shape, and even the perception of the product.
In this course, you will learn different languages and methodologies, then apply what you have learned to create innovative solutions at the maker’s lab. Regardless of the career path you wish to pursue, this design-centered and rapid prototyping approach will enable you to bring forward differentiating, credible, and effective projects.
Specialized Tracks and/or Electives
The first year of the MiM programs offers a first step of specialization by entering a focused track or choosing elective courses.
Elective courses are designed to allow you to specialize according to your professional project. They can be taken as individual electives or as part of a focused track (a focused track is a grouping of several electives) to ensure strong expertise in a specific field of study.

Responsible Engagement Program - PER
The Responsible Engagement Program aims to involve you in a volunteer mission to educate you through action on societal and environmental challenges, for the common good, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
During your first year, you will undertake a field mission (minimum of 50 hours) as a volunteer in a student association at emlyon business school, a partner organization, or external entities (associations, public institutions, and companies).
Once the field missions are completed, this responsible engagement will be subject to an academic validation process in two stages:
- Writing an experience report
- Sharing your experience through an oral presentation
50 hours is the mandatory minimum, but it’s just the beginning! If you wish to continue your volunteer engagement, you can undertake a Level 2 Responsible Engagement Program, which includes an additional 50 hours of volunteering during the Master’s cycle (100 hours in total), in place of an elective course.
If you have the opportunity to lead an innovative project during your engagement, you will become eligible for the Social Entrepreneurship Award and the Social Entrepreneurship Certificate.
Makers' Project
The Makers' Project introduces you to project management in the first year of your MiM program, for a minimum of 4 months. In groups of 3 to 6 people, you will develop cross-disciplinary skills through strategic thinking from the "Project Management" course, full implementation from A to Z, and concrete execution.
You will freely choose a theme from several categories: sports, entrepreneurship, humanitarian work, CSR, sustainable development, international projects, art/culture, communication, new intelligences, the future of work, student association management at emlyon business school, event planning, alumni and corporate relations, and more.
Optional gap year
The gap year and the customized pathway are not compatible.
Master 2 - Year 3 of the MiM program
In the 2nd year of the Master in Management - Grande Ecole program, you have several opportunities to intensify or diversify your specialization.
Several options are available to you: continue with focused tracks and/or electives, undertake an international mobility experience with a double degree, or a France-based mobility (academic exchange, double degree), followed by a 6-month professional end-of-studies experience. You can also choose a 12-month apprenticeship contract or a customized pathway (2nd year of Master over 2 years).

🌎 International Mobility Pathway
The international mobility option in the second year of the Master in Management - Grande Ecole program can take the form of a one-year double degree.
Join prestigious institutions abroad, hybridize your skills in a different cultural context to enrich your profile and stand out to recruiters.
🇲🇫 France Mobility Pathway
You can undertake an academic exchange or a dual degree in France, which will allow you to acquire multidisciplinary skills and enhance your employability.
- Double degree ICM (Civil Engineering of Mines) with Mines de Saint-Étienne
- Double degree "Study and Research in Management" with Université Jean Moulin Lyon III
- Master 2 "Economics and Finance" with Université Lumière Lyon II, Université Jean-Monnet-Saint-Étienne et ENS de Lyon
- Double degree with Strate École de Design
💼 Apprenticeship Pathway
You will have the opportunity to undertake a 12-month apprenticeship contract to gain solid professional experience and acquire practical skills in your field. This will allow you to apply your academic knowledge in a real-world organization of your choice. We provide resources to help you enhance your profile for recruiters and facilitate your professional integration.
Available to students under 30 years of age who are fluent in French. Limited spots available, subject to eligibility conditions.
📅 Customized Pathway: 2nd year of Master over 2 years
The customized pathway allows you to complete your Master 2 (Year 3) of the MiM program over two years. Whether you wish to take on more responsibilities in an association or lead personal or professional projects, this pathway gives you an additional year to get involved. It enables you to combine student lifeand professional experience within the Master in Management - Grande Ecole program.
Engagement in student associations is an integral part of emlyon business school and serves as a bridge to professionalization, helping students get involved in meaningful projects, improve, innovate, and lead. With its unique nature, the Conseil de Corporation is an association composed of Master 2 (Year 3) students or those who have previously held leadership positions in student organizations.
The gap year and the customized pathway are not compatible.
Career Courses
The Career Center at emlyon business school provides dedicated career support for students in the Master in Management - Grande Ecole program through mandatory courses:
- Master 1 (Year 2): A general course titled "Career Launchpad"
- Master 2 (Year 3): 2 elective career courses for further specialization
The Career Center organizes numerous workshops and conferences on employability topics as well as events where you can meet employers (Careers Forum, CV Clinic, etc.). The Career Center also offers individual or small group coaching sessions (during your Master 1 - Year 2) with Career Consultants to support you on all issues related to your search for internships, apprenticeships, or your first job.
Career Tracks: Accelerate your career in selective sectors
Organized by our Career Center with support from alumni and corporate partners, these Career Tracks are specialized cycles of conferences and workshops that prepare you for the most selective recruitment processes. They target a limited number of students aiming for careers in competitive sectors such as finance or strategy consulting, known for their rigorous selection procedures.
Investment Banking (conducted in English)
Prepare for careers in corporate finance and financial markets:
- Targeted training for mastering corporate and market finance fundamentals.
- Workshops to build a strong understanding of the finance industry, practice numerical tests, and strengthen your applications for summer internships.
- Personalized support with experts from PREPZfy, helping you perfect your applications and interview strategies.
Strategy & Consulting (conducted in French)
A springboard to join top strategy consulting firms:
- Intensive preparation for recruitment interviews, including case study practice.
