Meet Andrea current student of the MSc in Sports Industry Management!

Can you tell us a bit about your background?

Hello everyone, I am Andrea Bordignon, a sport enthusiast and MSc in Sports Industry Management student from Italy. Over the last 4 years I have lived in five different cities all over the world: Milan, London, Paris, Shanghai and Amsterdam, where I am living now.
Passionate about CrossFit and fascinated by marketing, after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in marketing in Milan, I had to make a choice about my future Master.

Why did you choose this program?

Sport has always been part of my daily life. I decided to join this program in order to have the possibility to work in the sporting goods industry, following my dream of joining one of the two leaders of the market: Nike. Combining sport and marketing, I can definitely put all my effort in everything I do. Passion is key, especially in this industry.

What is your current position? How did the emlyon business school career services help you during your studies?

Since the very beginning of the program, I have been helped by emlyon business school’s career services to achieve my career goals, preparing week after week my resumes, cover letters and interview speeches. And today, after several interviews and thanks to the relevant help of my career coach, I have got the position of EMEA Sales Intern at Nike in the European Headquarter in Amsterdam. It is just amazing, never been happier to come to the office working for the coolest brand worldwide, yesterday it was a dream and today it’s real thanks to this Master.

What’s the best memory you will keep from the program?

One of the best experiences I will keep in mind forever from the program it is the semester in Shanghai. One of the most challenging and incredible experience so far, working in an In-Company Project for Decathlon China meanwhile attending all the classes related to the Asian business gave me a great understanding of Digital, e-commerce and of course, the incredible Asian culture overall.

What advice would you give to future students of this program?

As student-athlete, my humble advice is to keep in mind how much sport can help you in your everyday life. Team building, motivation and setting smart goals are keys that are going to help you achieve your dreams during and after the program.

Here at Nike we use to say: “It’s only a crazy dream until you do it”. So, what are you waiting for? Join this Master Program and reach your dream!
