Tell us about yourself?

I was raised in Tunisia in a small beautiful agricultural town called Beja, situated in the north of Tunisia. Even though I don’t live there anymore, I fall in love with this charming town again with each visit.

I’m interested in the beauty and luxury industry. I would like to work with companies like L’Oréal, Unilever, Estée Lauder, Guerlain, Sephora, Chanel and Dior. I’m also interested in communication agencies like Artefact, Havas, Fifty-five and Criteo.

Why did you choose Digital Marketing and Data Science program?

The program perfectly fits my career goals. This program will allow me to take my career to the next level because it combines digital marketing and data science fields, which are highly demanded in the job market. The program also includes subjects that I am passionate about.

My professional experience as a marketing and sales officer showed me the importance of digital marketing in today’s world. I believe every marketer should have skills in digital marketing and data analysis in order to work efficiently in this field.

What are the challenges of studying online?

Miscommunication on important subjects can easily cause frustration that would be avoided through face-to-face communication. Coordinating between teams is more challenging online especially when working on group projects.

Online learning does not allow us to have deep personal relationships with other students. I also miss out on networking physically for example during career events or among fellow students. Other things that may seem small but are important like being part of a sports program or club are just not the same online.

What are the advantages of studying online?

It saves time. It takes me less time to get ready and I do not need to commute to school each morning. We all know that commuting can take a lot of time.

As everything is recorded, I have the chance to review the content course again for the exams or if I did not attend class for a particular reason. It helps me to catch details that I have missed during class.

What has been your most memorable experience?

Talking with companies like L’Oréal, Artefact and Amazon during the online career forum. We had very insightful conversations from which I learned a lot about the companies.

What advice would you give to incoming students?

“Learn as if you were to live forever" - Gandhi

This is an intense program where they will learn new subjects and gain new skills every day. To be better prepared they should start online certifications in the topics related to the program. This will give them a glimpse of what lies ahead of them and enable them to keep up with new concepts.

What are some fun facts about you?

I am passionate about international cuisines and social activism. My passion for social activism led me to Melbourne, Australia where I gave a speech on democracy in Tunisia.
