Shanghai: A vibrant megacity

Shanghai is China’s biggest city and a global financial hub. It was ranked #5 by the 2019 edition of the Global Financial Centers Index published by the City of London. As a student of high-end brand management, Shanghai is the perfect place to study: You are right at the centre of the most important future market for the luxury & high-end cultural and creative industries. Most European luxury brands have their China/Asia headquarters in Shanghai. The city is also home to many of the emerging high-end brands from China such as Sandriver, Shang Xia, and Shanghai Vive. The new trends in China start in Shanghai. You can find here some of the world’s biggest luxury malls and high-end flagship stores, the latest concept stores, world-renown art galleries and exhibitions, the most sophisticated restaurants, bars and hotels – so you can develop an understanding of the new Chinese high-end consumers and the future consumer trends in China.
It is relatively easy to find accommodation in Shanghai. There are real estate agents specialized in students / short-term rentals. Apartments are usually fully equipped with furniture and electrical appliances. Many students rent a shared apartment together with some of their classmates. The average monthly rental fees are about 3000-4000 RMB/person (about 400€-500€), depending on the apartment’s location and amenities.

While living in Paris, you will not only be able to discover the fabulous heritage of the past centuries through monuments like the Eiffel Tower, the Notre Dame Cathedral or the Sacré Coeur Basilica, but while walking trough the city, you will also be able to understand where some of the world's greatest writers and painters such as Voltaire, Balzac or Monet got their inspiration from. You'll also have the opportunity discover the latest art exhibits, dance shows or music festivals in private mansions and palaces such as the Palais de Chaillot, the Palais de Tokyo or the Louis Vuitton Foundation. You'll also be able to discover world-renowned places such as the Louvre or the Musée d'Orsay.
When walking through Paris, you’ll be able to sense its history thanks to the Haussmann architecture, the narrow streets paved with cobble stones etc. However Paris is also a hotspot for shopping with unique shopping centers such as The Galeries Lafayette located on Paris’ famous Boulevard Haussmann or small boutiques located in the Marais, well-known for its arts galleries and vintage shops. With its many cafés, bistros and world-renowned restaurants such La Tour d’Argent, France’s capital city is also highly famous for its exquisite cuisine.
